ReAble Labs is a robotics company. William Hartley and I founded it in September 2025, and we're based in Cork.

The first product

Our first product is Diego, a myoelectric prosthetic hand. Myoelectric means it is driven by the small electrical signals your muscles make when they contract. Diego is priced at €5,000. The patent is filed, and that is all I'll say about how it works for now.

What I do there

I'm co-founder, CEO and CTO. I run the company, and I do all of the engineering: mechanical design, electronics, PCB design, firmware and machine learning. My research on surface EMG grasp decoding is on its own page.

Recognition

In April 2026 we won the Hult Prize Irish National Final, and I won the AIB Student Impact Award for Enterprise and Innovation. In August we were one of the top 21 teams, out of roughly 18,000, at the Hult Prize Global Accelerator in London.
